Top Lake Holiday Destinations
Lake Garda
When travelling with us to Italy’s Lake Garda, we’ll experience crystal clear water, soaring mountains, dramatic scenery and plenty of time to soak it all in. Our Lake Garda holidays also include a private boat tour of the some of the most fascinating and beautiful towns along the lake. Enjoy stops at Limone, a small village backed by lemon groves; Malcesine, famed for its medieval Scaligero Castle; and Riva del Garda, a picturesque cobblestoned village. On our tours to Lake Garda, we’ll also take day trips to nearby Venice, Verona, and the Dolomite mountains.
Lake Como
Arguably Italy’s most famous lake, Lake Como is known for its beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery and luxurious celebrity villas. On our holidays, we’ll enjoy plenty of free time to relax on the numerous beaches or ‘Lidos’ along the shore of the lake. Though our holidays give us plenty of time at leisure, we also provide sightseeing and excursions to make sure everyone gets the most out of their holiday. We’ll enjoy a boat tour of Lake Como, an excursion to the nearby buzzing city of Milan and a scenic train ride through the Swiss Alps.
Lake Bled
Nestled in the Julian Alps, the glacial Lake Bled has been a popular tourist destination for decades. On our holidays to Slovenia, we’ll have time to explore the town of Bled at a leisurely pace and take in the stunning scenery and blue-green waters of the lake. We’ll also enjoy a guided tour of Bled including medieval Bled Castle and a boat trip to Bled Island, which lies in the centre of the lake’s glacial blue waters. The small island is home to a church, small museum and the historic South Staircase, a set of 99 steps built in 1655.
Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore may not be quite as famous as Garda or Como, but this Italian lake makes up for it in its tranquillity. With our holiday base in one of Lake Maggiore’s quaint waterside towns, we’ll have plenty of free time to soak up the peaceful atmosphere and enjoy incredible scenic views out onto the water. On our guided holidays to Maggiore, we’ll take a full day excursion to explore the lake’s Borromean Islands by boat and enjoy a scenic rail journey to the Swiss side of the lake, for a day in the town of Locarno.
